Needless to say, I was skeptical. Aren't there some pretty clear indicators about these things? How could a baby look like a boy... and then six weeks later appear to be a girl? In another six weeks will we be having a puppy?!
The tech patiently explained how hard it can be to assess a baby's gender at the first sonogram. He even invited me back for a third (free!) sonogram a week later -- and this time I felt a considerably more confident about the gender of our Wee One.
So... time to girl-ify the Cozy Holt!

I can completely see Eric with a tiny little girl! He'll be a great dad, surrounded by his pretty girls!
But watch out, Jen! She'll probably grow up and tower over you! Between Eric and your dad's side of the family... I'm just saying. :-)
You're so right -- not only will Eric make a *fabulous* Dad... I have a hunch I will soon be dwarfed by my family! (After all, the baby is already big for her age and she's not even born yet!) No complaints on this end, though -- it'll save $$$ when the baby and I can share clothes when she gets to elementary school! (just kidding... I think!)
What an interesting tidbit of information, Jennifer, and what a blessing to know that regardless of the outside world's confusion over your little one's identity it has been known to her Creator all along. Love to you all!
"You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother's womb. I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works! My very self you knew; my bones were not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, fashioned as in the depths of the earth." Psalm 139 13-15 NAB
Thanks for those thoughts, Kathleen! It was really amazing for me to read that Scripture quote and realize that -- thanks to the sonogram -- we, too, got to see the baby's bones as she was being fashioned as in the depths, in secret! A God's-eye view!! Very humbling.
