8 Weeks and Counting!

Yesterday began an exciting week in the Cozy Holt! Baby had his/her 8-week, um, pre-birthday! To commemorate the occasion (and also to commemorate Mother's Day), we took these family pictures last night.

And although we haven't seen a doctor yet (so we don't exactly know how Baby is doing), nothing serious seems to be going wrong... so we're taking that to mean that Baby is probably doing just dandy!

For those who have not been reading stack after stack of pregnancy books lately, here's the skinny on what's new in Baby's life this week: Little arms and legs are sprouting out -- complete

with itty-bitty elbows and knees! Baby's tiny 4-chambered heart is already beating, and his/her brain is growing very fast (100 cells per minute, according to one text I read). Baby is about the size of a grape, and weighs approximately one gram.
